David FesmireSnare drummer |
|
David has years of experience playing hand drums and is a regular at local drum circles. He began training on the side (snare) drum in early 2005 after meeting Jason McCormick and becoming interested in pipe drumming. Wearing Highland dress and playing with a pipe band came naturally as David has Scottish heritage through three of his Grandparents (Frazier, Flatt/Flett, and Richards) and is a member of the Clan Fraser Society of North America. He plays the Premier HTS700 drum using Premier KP2 sticks.
David's other percussion interests include the Celtic bodhran, Middle-eastern dumbek, and African djembe. He has done extensive research into the history of percussion in order to better understand the power of the drum. David considers Mickey Hart and Russell "Buddy" Helm to be the artists that most influenced his view of percussion.
